Santos have promoted 17-year-old forward Nadson to the matchday squad for Sunday’s seventh-round Campeonato Paulista trip to Noroeste, and he could make his senior debut.
According to Globo.com, kick-off is 16:00 Brasília time at Estádio Alfredo de Castilho in Bauru. The teenager is expected to start on the bench, and a cameo would be his first-team bow.
Nadson is viewed as a standout from the academy, a quick attacker with dribbling and individual threat, and he is well regarded by Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s staff. His one-v-one profile is rare in the current squad, with Neymar unavailable for this game and Robinho Jr. experiencing an inconsistent run.
He has been at the club since under-11 and has frequently played above his age group. In 2024 he was in the under-15s, finishing as the team’s top scorer in the state competition with 12 goals, while also helping the under-17s to the title and featuring for the under-20s and under-23s in the Brasileiro de Aspirantes.
Last season he split time between the under-17s and under-20s. In the under-20 Paulista final against São Paulo, he was among coach Vinícius Marques’s bets as Santos chased a three-goal deficit, the changes forced a draw and the club won on penalties.
In 2025 he signed his first contract with Santos days after turning 16, running to 23 January 2028. This year he has earned more minutes for the under-20s, starting in the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior and recording five appearances, one goal and one assist.
