Gunners are ball number two for the fourth round draw

Arsenal eased into the Carabao Cup fourth round after beating Ipswich.

Paired with another Premier League team in round three, Arsenal made light work of the newly promoted side on Tuesday night as they raced into a four-goal lead just before the hour mark.

A combination of taking their foot off the pedal and a potential refereeing mistake did see the Gunners ship two goals in the second half, though they were never in danger of not sealing progression to the next round.

Max Dowman was the star of the show with a brace on his first start of the season, while Noni Madueke and, captain for the night, Mikel Merino were also on target at Portman Road.

It’s now seven straight wins across all competitions for Arsenal, hitting the ground at the beginning of the campaign as they bid to go one better than last season when they were beaten Carabao Cup finalists.

All eyes will now turn towards the draw for the fourth round which takes place on Wednesday night, following the conclusion of the Manchester United vs Brighton clash.

Who will Arsenal face in Carabao Cup fourth round?

Arsenal have been allocated ball number two for the Carabao Cup fourth round draw, with that tie scheduled to take place the week beginning October 26.

Unlike draws for European competitions, there is no seeding in the Carabao Cup. Furthermore, the format is not regionalised into northern and southern sections like it is before round three.

As such, the draw is open which means Arsenal can face anyone.

Bournemouth, Bradford, Brentford, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Peterborough and Sunderland are all confirmed potential opponents for the Gunners.

Meanwhile, the five other spots up for grabs will be filled by Coventry/Aston Villa, Everton/Wolves, Fleetwood Town/Sheffield United, Manchester United/Brighton and Manchester City/Norwich.
