For many days, it felt like Serie A side Roma would seal a move for Porto talent Rodrigo Mora. A deal seemed on the verge of completion but it now stalling, which has led to Lyon’s Malick Fofana becoming a concrete option for the Giallorossi.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the move for Mora is at risk of falling through. Jorge Mendes’ late intervention can still save it but for now, things aren’t looking great.

The Belgian has monitored by Roma several times in recent months and he is keen on playing in the Champions League next season. Now, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side can turn to him at any moment.

Fofana would cost €40 million and this is a figure Roma can afford. Fofana has a lot of admirers across Europe and Italy, with Inter also among the list of suitors. But he remains high on the Roman club’s shortlist – higher than Ibrahim Mbaye and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
