Arthur Avom, selected by Cameroon for AFCON, is attracting suitors as the Lorient midfielder’s future comes under scrutiny.
According to L'Équipe, Rennes are monitoring the 21-year-old for the summer, although any January departures in their midfield could push them to act sooner.
One leading Ligue 1 club wants to sign him this winter. Club Brugge will be strong contenders at season’s end, while Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahçe in Türkiye have also expressed keen interest.
Lorient’s priorities this window are an experienced centre-back, ideally on loan, and a direct, quick striker already familiar with Ligue 1 at a very reasonable cost. Coach Olivier Pantaloni has also highlighted the left flank, with Arsène Kouassi of Burkina Faso and Darlin Yongwa away at AFCON, though an internal solution is expected.
Avom is under contract only until this summer. He has played enough Ligue 1 matches since August to trigger a one-year extension clause, but Lorient have yet to exercise it.
