Willian signs Grêmio contract termination and bids farewell on social media | OneFootball

Willian’s spell at Grêmio has officially ended. The 38-year-old confirmed his departure on Saturday with a farewell message on Instagram.

The player said in a post that he had signed the termination of his contract, thanking the club, staff, supporters and team-mates, and wishing Grêmio success for the rest of this year and beyond.

He agreed his exit in early August after learning in July he was no longer in head coach Luís Castro’s plans for the remainder of the season. His deal had been scheduled to run until the end of 2026.

Announced in September 2025, Willian made 28 appearances for the Tricolor, scoring two goals and providing five assists. He won the Campeonato Gaúcho in 2026.

His final competitive outing was against Mirassol on 17 July in the Brasileirão.
