Westerlo have announced a double deadline day signing with two players joining from the Turkish league. Dogucan Haspolat has joined permanently from Trabzonspor on a four-year-deal, while Emin Bayram joins on loan from Galatasaray.
Haspolat is a 23-year-old Dutch central midfielder who operates in the defensive area of midfield. He began his career with Excelsior, where he made 45 appearances between 2016 and 2020. In the winter of 2020 he joined Kasimpasa, where he played until last year. After 54 appearances for the side, he moved to Trabzonspor. After just one season with Trabzonspor, Haspolat departs with 29 appearances and one goal.
20-year-old Bayram is a central defender who has come through the youth system at Galatasaray. He has made 20 appearances for the side since debuting, with the defender also playing the 2021/2022 season on loan at Boluspor. He made 30 appearances for Bolsupor and scored two goals.
Both players join a Westerlo side that are second bottom and yet to win this season. However, the side has been incredibly active in the transfer market this summer. One of these was experienced Ukrainian international Serhiy Sydorchuk.
