Wisdom Mike will not travel on Bayern’s Asia tour, staying in Munich to build match fitness after last season’s serious muscle injury. The 17-year-old has played only 35 minutes in all competitions this season.

Sky Sport reports that the attacker has been left out of the squad for the club’s 10th Audi Summer Tour, a 1-8 August trip to South Korea and Hong Kong.

He had been slated to feature for the U23 side coached by Dante. After consultation with Vincent Kompany, he will remain in Munich to continue his recovery and regain sharpness.

A loan remains on the table, with interest from clubs in Germany and abroad. His Bayern contract is due to become a full professional deal when he turns 18 on 24 September.

Jamal Musiala, Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry are also staying at Säbener Strasse as they continue pre-season preparations.
