Wolfsburg are considering a move for Nice defender Brad-Hamilton Mantsounga, who has yet to sign a professional contract.
According to L'Équipe, the Bundesliga club are closely tracking the 18-year-old left-footer and could opt to cover his estimated €500,000 training compensation to recruit him in the summer.
He was among the first academy prospects to emerge after Claude Puel’s appointment at Nice, signalling a renewed focus on youth. He made three matchday squads under Franck Haise, for games against Braga, Fribourg and PSG.
Since his professional debut at Nantes in the Coupe de France, a 1-1 draw settled 6-4 on penalties, he has made five senior appearances across Ligue 1, the Europa League and the Cup.
Powerful and able to play centrally or out wide, Mantsounga has already drawn attention. Nice have opened talks over his first professional deal, mirroring moves with four other homegrown players. He remains on a trainee professional contract until June 2027.
