Wolves cancelled training on Monday after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the club then brought in extra security staff to prevent a repeat, and he will not be involved in Wednesday’s friendly at Maidenhead United.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave this summer, and while he is not believed to be banned from the training ground, his exit appears increasingly likely to be acrimonious, creating an unwanted headache for new boss Cesar Peixoto.

Arokodare did not initially travel to last week’s warm weather camp in Portugal, joining late after fellow forward Adam Armstrong suffered an injury.

Signed from Genk for £24million last summer, he scored just three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated from the top flight.

In April he faced disciplinary action after a dressing room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham in which he was the sole aggressor.

Wolves have accepted a loan offer from Trabzonspor for Arokodare, but the player turned the move down.
