Jean-Ricner Bellegarde faces a lengthy spell out after sustaining a hamstring injury, a setback for Wolves before Arsenal.
According to Molineux.news, Rob Edwards said he will be missing for a period of weeks, with the timeframe around six or more weeks. He had not appeared in training photographs this week as supporters awaited clarity on his fitness.
Bellegarde scored in the 4-1 defeat to Manchester United, then hobbled off early in the second half and needed assistance to leave the pitch.
Wolves’ injury list has grown. Marshall Munetsi is sidelined for weeks with a calf issue, Rodrigo Gomes remains out following groin surgery, and Bellegarde now joins them.
The absences leave Edwards short of options in the attacking midfield and number 10 roles, which could open the door for Fer Lopez to get minutes. The Spaniard has been linked with a loan due to limited game time, though he may have to stay past January as injuries mount.
Andy Thompson has urged Edwards to start Lopez against Arsenal. Edwards could instead pair two strikers with a single attacking midfielder, while Hwang Hee-chan and Jhon Arias could fill the wide 10 positions used recently by Munetsi and Bellegarde.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an injury update of his own before the game.
