Wolves must target Man Utd left-back Harry Amass to replace Hugo Bueno, as the Spaniard attracts interest from Atletico Madrid.
Wolves are set for a very busy end to the transfer window as they look to reshape Cesar Peixoto’s squad ahead of the deadline.
Nathan Shi had hinted at a major overhaul when addressing fans following Wanderers’ dismal relegation, but, so far, that hasn’t really materialised.
Jordan James will be Wolves’ fourth new addition of the window, but the squad is lacking in certain areas, and the Black Country outfit haven’t shifted as many players as initially expected.
That has restricted what they can do in terms of incomings, and it has left the squad bloated in a few positions.

So, a lot of activity could be on the cards at Molineux, and one player who is seemingly attracting interest is Hugo Bueno, as reports from Spain claim he is on Atlético Madrid’s radar.
The Spaniard was Peixoto’s number one left-back throughout pre-season, and Bueno played the full 90 minutes against Port Vale in the EFL Cup, so many expected him to start the campaign in the XI.
But, an injury issue kept Bueno out of the 2-2 draw against Blackburn, although fans will naturally question that following the transfer development.
The chance to join Diego Simeone is obviously going to appeal, and the update states that the La Liga side have identified Bueno and Jorge Salinas as their two top targets as they look for a replacement for Matteo Ruggeri, who has joined Aston Villa.

As mentioned, the outgoings have been slow at Wolves, and it has contributed to the lack of new recruits, which is a frustration.
There may not be a market for certain players that Wolves had hoped to move on, so it’s now a case of adapting and dealing with the current situation, so the fact there is interest in Bueno may mean the Championship side are open to a sale, and he could fetch around £15m.
Wolves already have David Moller Wolfe at the club, and it was always going to be tough to keep the two left-backs beyond the deadline.
Even though the Norwegian international endured a torrid opening night against Blackburn, it can be put down to a lack of match fitness, as Wolfe didn’t play in pre-season, so he needs time to get up to speed.
The former AZ man was a standout performer in the Netherlands, and he was impressive as Norway reached the World Cup quarter-final, so he should be a capable performer for Wolves at this level when he is ready.

But, Wolfe can’t be the only natural left-back at the club over the course of the season, so Wanderers will be on the lookout for a new option, and Man Utd’s Harry Amass would be a shrewd addition.
It has been suggested the 19-year-old could leave the Red Devils for £7m, which certainly puts him in Wolves’ price range, and they should receive a bigger fee for Bueno.
Amass has already done well at this level with Sheffield Wednesday, so he would provide great competition for Wolfe.
With the Norwegian at the club, there would be no pressure on Amass to play every week, but he would certainly hope to make himself a regular in the XI over the course of the campaign.

Following on from that, Amass is also a player that could represent a smart long-term signing for Wolves.
The priority is promotion, but the club must have one eye on the future, and, at 19, there is plenty of room for Amass to develop. He is clearly talented, but he understandably has struggled for game time at Old Trafford.
Now, he is at a stage in his career where he needs more exposure to the first-team, even if it means dropping to the Championship.
That makes Wolves the ideal destination for Amass if they do cash-in on Bueno, and, if everything goes to plan, he could become a key player for the club in the years to come.
