Wolves host West Ham United on Saturday while they desperately chase their first three points of 2026.
The Old Gold currently sit bottom of the table after a historic winless start. However, the mood at Molineux has improved slightly after a spirited draw at Manchester United. Rob Edwards wants to use that momentum to spark a survival charge before the gap to 17th place becomes insurmountable. Therefore, the manager will likely name his strongest possible XI to capitalise on West Ham’s poor defensive form.
Rob Edwards receives a significant boost in midfield because André returns from a suspension. The manager also expects Santiago Bueno to recover from a knock that kept him out on Tuesday. Consequently, Bueno should resume his place in the defensive unit alongside Yerson Mosquera and Ladislav Krejci. However, centre-backs Toti Gomes and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde remain unavailable with long-term injuries. Additionally, Marshall Munetsi is not yet ready for the matchday squad despite returning to light training recently.
The squad depth remains an issue for Wolves due to international commitments. Emmanuel Agbadou is still representing Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations. In contrast, young winger Tawanda Chirewa is available again after Zimbabwe’s exit from the competition. Edwards will likely rely on Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare to lead the attack. Wolves have scored the fewest second-half goals in the division this season. Thus, the manager needs his forwards to stay clinical for the full ninety minutes.
Wolverhampton Wanderers predicted XI: Sá; Mosquera, Doherty, Krejčí; Tchatchoua, Arias, J. Gomes, Mané, H. Bueno; Arokodare, Strand Larsen
The Premier League fixture takes place at Molineux on Saturday, 3 January 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
