Chancel Mbemba reacted just hours after DR Congo secured their spot in the March play-offs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In the World Cup 2026 play-off semi-finals against Cameroon, Chancel Mbemba was the savior for the Democratic Republic of Congo. On Sunday, the former Olympique de Marseille defensive powerhouse once again rose to the occasion for his national team, calmly converting his penalty against Nigeria in the final.
Having secured DR Congo’s place in the upcoming March play-offs, Mbemba took to his X account this Monday to share his excitement. "We did it together. The battle continues, see you in March." he wrote.
