Africa will be represented by nine teams at this event: Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Ghana, South Africa, Cape Verde, and Ivory Coast.

A 10th spot could be awarded to one of the four African teams in the playoffs.

Here are the 3 breakthrough African stars from the qualifiers.

Oswin Appollis

The South African winger topped the assists chart after providing four key passes. The 24-year-old especially stood out in the match against Rwanda on the final day of qualifying, netting two goals and delivering a single assist.

Kamory Doumbia

The attacking midfielder scored eight goals in ten matches. Trained at home (JMG Bamako), the 22-year-old joined Stade Brestois in 2022.

Yahia Fofana

The Ivorian goalkeeper didn't concede a single goal in nine qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
