Côte d'Ivoire welcomed the original 2026 World Cup trophy on February 3, as part of the global trophy tour launched by FIFA and its partners.

The original 2026 World Cup trophy paraded through the streets of the capital on February 3. According to Fraternité Matin, the trophy arrived at 9 a.m. at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan-Port Bouët.Accompanied by Ivorian football officials and French football legend Marcel Desailly, the trophy made stops at symbolic sites before being displayed to the delight of football fans.

Côte d'Ivoire, in West Africa, was selected to host a visit from the most coveted trophy in the world of football.

The trophy tour aims to bring millions of fans across the globe closer to the biggest football event, with the 2026 edition set to take place in June in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
