FLW reports as Wycombe Wanderers hosted Reading in the battle of Berks and Bucks.

Wycombe Wanderers and Reading played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, with Danny Ings netting a 90th-minute equaliser on his Chairboys debut.

The first half was all one-way traffic in the opening 30 minutes, with Joe Wildsmith having to deny Jack Marriott and Paddy Lane after they capitalised on Wycombe mistakes.

Wanderers eventually grew into the game, but didn't force a single save out of Joel Pereria in the Reading net, as the sides went into the break poised at 0-0.

The second half would prove to be much more entertaining, as Paudie O'Connor opened the scoring in the 47th minute, before ex-Royal Jayden Wareham levelled it up on the hour mark.

Reading thought they'd won it when substitute Jacob Brown turned home a rebounded Lewis Wing shot with less than 10 minutes to play, before Ings netted a 90th minute equaliser on his Chairboys debut to preserve Tom Hounsell's unbeaten run as interim boss.

The first chance of the game went Reading's way. Dan Casey's heavy touch set Lisbie away on the right flank, who drilled a low cross to the back post, which Lane smashed straight at debutant Wildsmith.

The away side continued to probe for the opener inside the first 20 minutes, forcing multiple corners which were all dealt with by Wycombe, who offered very little in terms of attacking threat themselves.

Wanderers nearly shot themselves in the foot just after the 25-minute mark. Casey again giving the ball away cheaply, this to Marriott. Wildsmith was again on hand to spare the Irishman's blushes with a good save down low.

It took Wycombe over half an hour to muster their first half chance, with Fred Onyedinma's cross teeing up ex-Royals striker Jayden Wareham on the acrobatic, which flew a long way wide.

Caolan Boyd-Munce flashed an effort just wide of Joel Pereira's near post on the stroke of half-time, which proved to be the final action of the opening 45 minutes.

The Royals looked to continue their strong first-half display right from the off, and they would, as O'Connor headed in a deep cross from Lane to give his side a deserved lead.

The goal finally woke Wycombe up, with Connor Taylor's close-range header from a deep Boyd-Munce cross forcing Pereira into his first important save of the match.

Wanderers would find the equaliser on the hour mark, and it was no surprise who scored it. A deep cross from Henderson was nodded in at the back post by none other than ex-Reading striker Wareham, setting up an exciting conclusion to the contest.

Wareham was loving life out there after finding the net. He had a second goal disallowed for offside ten minutes later, before forcing Pereira into another strong save at his near post.

Against the run of play, Reading regained the advantage with 10 minutes to play. A long-distance drive from Wing was spilled by Wildsmith, straight into the path of Brown, who beat Casey to the loose ball and turned home.

There was still time for Wycombe to find a leveller after a much improved second half performance, and much like they did the last time these two teams met at Adams Park, they would find it in stoppage time.

A cross into the box wasn't dealt with by the Royals, and veteran striker Ings turned home the loose ball to mark his Wycombe debut with a memorable goal.
