Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso says the club will not be hurried over Mykhailo Mudryk’s future as Leeds United explore a late loan.

“We will see. We still have time to decide, and we don't have to rush on many decisions and at the right time we will take them, at the moment not yet,” he told The Standard.

Mudryk, 25, is training away from the first-team group and is expected to depart with eight days of the window left. Leeds are in talks over a season-long loan after an initial approach is thought to have been turned down.

The winger returned in July after serving 20 months of a four-year suspension for alleged doping, his FA case resolved after a positive test for meldonium which he has maintained was unintentional.

Chelsea are understood to favour a loan to sister club Strasbourg, while the player is thought to prefer staying in England, which could aid Leeds. Discussions cover a loan fee and wage share.

Brenden Aaronson started on the left in Leeds’ 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Noah Okafor off the bench. Daniel Farke also has Daniel James and Willy Gnonto, and Leeds visit Forest again in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday.
