A highly-regarded member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is all set for an imminent departure from the club.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Ángel Alarcón as the player in question.
For those not familiar with his name, Alarcón is a 20-year-old attacker, who is currently plying his trade on the books of Barca Atlètic.
The Spanish youth international can play anywhere across the frontline, with such versatility, coupled with his technical gifts, having seen Alarcón afforded his first-team bow by Xavi – a keen believer in his talents – all the way back in January of 2023.
As per Relevo:
‘At the time, Xavi praised the forward’s ability to adapt, explaining that he could play both on the wings and as the only centre forward.’
As alluded to above, though, 18 months on, the winger is all set to bring his Barcelona stint to a close.
This comes amid confirmation that the respective boards at the Camp Nou, and Portuguese heavyweights Porto, are ‘finalising’ an agreement for his transfer.
Alarcón is set to join Porto on a permanent basis, albeit with Barca set to maintain an unspecified percentage of his playing rights.
This comes with a view to a potential future return, in the case of Alarcón fulfilling his unquestionable potential whilst at the Estádio do Dragão.
