Yangel returns as Zakharyan all but ruled out with acute gastroenteritis | OneFootball

Yangel Herrera has rejoined Real Sociedad’s preparations and could feature late on, while Arsen Zakharyan is set to miss out with acute gastroenteritis ahead of the Copa final.

According to Diario Vasco, Yangel trained on Thursday as planned by the staff and may be available for the closing stages or extra time. Zakharyan was absent again two days before the showpiece, would arrive undertrained and also poses a potential contagion risk, so he is considered highly unlikely to make it.

Images from Thursday’s session at José Luis Orbegozo showed a calm but focused group and strong intensity in the small-sided games. Yangel worked normally, and both Oyarzabal and Gorrotxategi appeared at full tilt after recent issues. The camp will hope to come through Friday’s double session without setbacks.

As things stand, the two from Eibar look set to start, with the biggest question in goal between Marrero and Remiro. In front of the keeper, the back line could be Aramburu, Jon Martín, Caleta-Car and Sergio Gómez. Midfield options include Gorrotxategi, Turrientes and Soler, with a front three of Barrenetxea, Oyarzabal and Guedes, while Sucic or Marín cannot be ruled out.

Fraga, Beitia and Aguirre are ready to travel south after recent weeks under Matarazzo. Their chances of playing appear slim, especially for the third-choice goalkeeper, but being part of a final camp is a valuable step for the Sanse trio.
