Sunderland are shaping plans for a measured summer as Regis Le Bris readies a Europa League squad, with Algeria midfielder Yassine Titraoui linked.

Foot Sur 7 reports that Marseille, with sporting director Gregory Lorenzi, are leading discussions for the Charleroi midfielder. The 22-year-old is said to favour Sunderland and could be motivated by a more lucrative proposal, with a fee between £seven million and £10.5 million.

The Black Cats will play in Europe for only the second time in their history. Last weekend’s home win over Chelsea sealed a superb seventh-place finish in their first season back in the Premier League.

Le Bris said the window will be important but warned that recruitment is hard to predict, as players react differently to new environments. He added the club’s structure has improved, with more people and tools allowing a wider view of the market than before.

Even so, business is unlikely to match last summer’s volume, with Sunderland aiming to build on firm foundations. Le Bris said they will see what happens over the coming weeks.
