Yohannes and Shrader shine as OL Lyonnes reach semi-finals via two corners

OL Lyonnes pinned Wolfsburg back from the start and, despite wasteful finishing, reached the semi-finals after extra time, profiting from two corners.

According to Le Progres, a more combative midfield than in the first leg underpinned their fast start.

From the all-American trio selected in midfield, Lily Yohannes and Korbin Shrader impressed most. They combined for the opener, one scoring and the other providing the pass.

Their relentless work cut passing lanes and regained possession, while the bite in duels had been missing in the first leg.

They also carried a threat from distance, keeping Wolfsburg under pressure.
