VfB Stuttgart have completed the €25 million signing of striker Dženan Pejčinović from Wolfsburg on a contract until 2031. The move was announced on Monday.

Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said they resolved early to target Pejčinović, believes he can contribute immediately while still developing, and views his choice as a strong signal of the club’s upward trend.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough Bundesliga season last term, despite Wolfsburg’s first ever relegation. Champions League regulars FC Porto explored a deal, but he rejected their approach and opted for Stuttgart’s project.

He expressed eagerness to get started, noted he already knows several VfB team-mates from DFB youth sides, and described talks with club figures as very positive, making the decision straightforward.

Pejčinović can represent Montenegro or Germany at senior level. He is a Germany U21 international, a 2024 Fritz Walter silver medallist, and scored twice in European Championship qualifying.
