Corinthians is facing Santos on the night of this Thursday (22), at Vila Belmiro, for the fourth round of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista. The teams went into halftime with Corinthians leading 1-0, with a goal by Yuri Alberto.

As he left the field, the player spoke with TNT Sports and commented on the team's approach for the second half and the missed penalty in the first half. “Well, we have to come back even more focused, even more concentrated. We’re being very aggressive, both in marking and attacking depth. We need to use that a lot more, use it more often so we can create more great opportunities, like in the play where I won the penalty, and also in the play where I scored the goal, where I was aggressive here on the right side. So, we need to keep up this same pace.”

Next, Yuri specifically commented on the missed penalty in the first half, explained the play, and emphasized the confidence he maintained to score the goal that put Corinthians ahead before halftime.

“And about the penalty, just some bad luck there, I managed to send the keeper the wrong way, but I ended up hitting it a bit high. So, thank God, in the very next play I was even more confident to score the goal, made a great move first and then it resulted in a goal. So, I’m grateful for this goal and, man, we have to come back even better in the second half so we can secure this important result away from home.” he concluded.

Now, after facing Santos away, Corinthians remains focused on the Campeonato Paulista. That’s because, next Sunday (25), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), the alvinegro team visits Velo Clube at Estádio Benito A. Castellano, for the fifth round of the first stage of the state championship.
