Canal Goat reports that Yuri Alberto has begun his physical transition and spent a short spell working with the Corinthians squad on Wednesday.
The striker is recovering from a grade 2 injury to the back of his right thigh sustained on 30 July. Thursday marks four weeks of treatment, at least two weeks ahead of an initial six to eight week outlook.
Despite the progress, the medical staff remain cautious. Corinthians do not intend to rush any stage, aiming to avoid overload and keep him fit through the run-in.
He will be assessed over the coming days before any decision on a return. His involvement in the clássico with Santos is uncertain. Corinthians host on Sunday at 16:00 at Neo Química Arena in the 25th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Over the weekend he worked individually at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava to build match condition for the derby.
Yuri was injured during the 0-0 draw with Athletico-PR at Neo Química Arena. He came on at half-time, lasted about 30 minutes, then felt pain in his right leg and left in tears.
It was not his first similar setback in 2026. In February he suffered a grade 2 injury in his left thigh against São Bernardo in the Campeonato Paulista, returning just over a month later against Chapecoense.
Despite being out since late July, he remains Corinthians’ top scorer this season with eight goals in 33 games, two more than defender Gustavo Henrique.
