Yusuf Yazıcı (27), currently on international duty with Türkiye at Euro 2024, has confirmed his departure from Ligue 1 side Lille OSC.
As revealed by Get French Football News, Yazıcı turned down a contract extension to remain with Lille. As a result, he leaves LOSC on a free transfer after six years at the club. During his time at the Ligue 1 side, the Türkiye international also spent time on loan at CSKA Moscow and Trabzonspor. He leaves Les Dogues having scored 29 goals and registered 15 assists in 135 appearances for the club.
Yazıcı took to X (formerly Twitter) to send a message to Lille’s fans in the wake of the expiry of his contract. “For now, this story is coming to an end but you’ll always be in my heart, forever,” he said.
What next for Yazıcı? The versatile forward is the subject of interest from several clubs across Europe. Paulo Fonseca, who left Lille to join AC Milan earlier this summer, is a fan of Yazıcı, Get French Football News understands. A move to Italy could therefore be an option.
