Zakaria Labyad makes Corinthians debut in 2-0 defeat to Coritiba | OneFootball

Zakaria Labyad made his first appearance for Corinthians on Wednesday night, coming on during a 2-0 defeat to Coritiba at Neo Química Arena.

The No 52 entered at 36 minutes of the second half, replacing Memphis Depay, who was not having a good game. According to Meu Timao, the Moroccan had four actions with the ball and made no impact.

Labyad had not played since November 2025, when he featured for Dalian Yingbo in China. Signed in February, he underwent a spell of physical reconditioning before being involved.

At 33, he has been brought in to bolster the attacking midfield. Last season he was directly involved in 10 goals across 25 matches, and his standout campaign came in 2017/18 with FC Utrecht, when he registered 15 goals and nine assists.

He remains available to head coach Dorival Júnior for Corinthians against Santos on Sunday. The Clássico Alvinegro is set for 16:00 at Vila Belmiro, with Timão seeking to win their first clash against a rival this season.
