Zé Rafael, formerly of Santos, has signed a one-year deal with Portuguese side Alverca. The club said in a post on Monday that he has become their latest addition.
The 33-year-old midfielder played the last two seasons for Santos, making 40 appearances, scoring two goals and registering one assist. He terminated his contract with the club in July.

A Coritiba academy graduate, he had spells at Novo Hamburgo and Londrina before moving to Bahia, where he impressed.
Across two seasons in Salvador he featured in 128 matches, scoring 18 and supplying nine assists.
He then spent six seasons at Palmeiras, enjoying his most successful spell and winning 11 trophies.
