Zechiël brace lifts Feyenoord into fourth after first half blitz

Feyenoord beat Cambuur 5-2 at Kooi Stadion to climb from seventh to fourth in the Eredivisie, built on a four-goal first half before seeing off a late rally.
Gjivai Zechiël opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box. Luciano Valente doubled the lead (26.). Thijs Janssen then put through his own net (42.). Ayase Ueda converted from the spot in the first minute of first half stoppage time after Givairo Read was fouled.
After the restart, substitute Nicolas Binder teed up Rafik El Arguioui to pull one back (70.). El Arguioui struck again (80.) before Zechiël swept in Jordan Lotomba's cut-back to settle it (83.). El Arguioui is now joint first in the Eredivisie scoring with three.
Tjark Ernst made important stops either side of the interval, and the visitors' defence won 78.9% of their tackles to keep control.
One minute was added at the end of the first half and Ueda's penalty arrived within it. Earlier, play briefly paused for treatment to Janssen.
Feyenoord registered 14 attempts, seven on target. Cambuur produced 11 attempts with four on target.
Cambuur stay 18th after three defeats. Next, Cambuur host FC Twente. Feyenoord welcome ADO Den Haag.
