Algeria: Return of the controversial referee from the AFCON final!

Algeria draws the controversial referee from the AFCON final once again
Despite the controversies that surrounded the 2025 AFCON final, Jean-Jacques Ndala continues to play a prominent role in African refereeing. The Congolese referee, widely criticized after that tense clash between Senegal and Morocco, is still regularly appointed to officiate major continental competitions.
In recent months, he notably took charge of the showdown between Young Africans and JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League. The Confederation of African Football has once again called upon him for a high-stakes fixture: the first leg of the Confederation Cup quarterfinal between Al Masry and CR Belouizdad.
Despite the debates sparked by some of his decisions during the 2025 AFCON, Ndala's career shows no signs of slowing down. On the contrary, the Congolese official has even been selected among the referees for the 2026 World Cup, proof that he still enjoys strong backing from international bodies.
