Antoine Kombouaré is to replace Stéphane Gilli at Paris FC on an 18-month agreement, with Gilli’s departure due to be confirmed on Sunday. According to L'Équipe, Kombouaré will be appointed and will be at Orly on Monday.

The former PSG, Nantes and Lens manager is to arrive with two assistants at the promoted club to rebuild the staff after the exits of Gilli’s backroom team.

Goalkeeping coach Mickaël Boully will remain. The contract runs to the end of this season, with a further year triggered if the club stay up.

Kombouaré, 62, recently underwent knee surgery and had been recuperating in recent weeks. He had resisted taking a job mid-season despite several offers.

He had been eyeing a national team role or a spell in England, yet Paris FC’s ambitious project, in a city and region he knows well, has enticed him. The move is set to become the 10th club of his managerial career in the coming hours.
