Arab Cup 2025 – Saudi Arabia 0-0 Jordan: Locked in tactical stalemate at half-time

Saudi Arabia and Jordan went into the break deadlocked at 0 - 0 after intense and tactically disciplined first half in their Arab Cup 2025 semifinal at Al Bayt Stadium.

Neither team managed to carve out decisive breakthrough across the opening 45 minute leaving the contest finely poised as place in the final remains firmly up for grabs.

Cagey opening Reflects semifinal stakes

The opening minutes of the match reflected the importance of the event. Jordan started strongly pressing high up the pitch and trying to disrupt Saudi Arabia's attacks while the Green Falcons initially focused on controlling the tempo of the game & maintaining defensive balance.

Saudi performance gradually improved using precise passes in midfield to slow Jordan's early momentum , but clear chances were scarce for both teams.

Midfield Duel dominates First half

As the game progressed it became close battle in midfield.. Saudi relied on organized possession and flank movements to exploit gaps while Jordan posed threat through quick transitions & direct attacking runs.

Neither team was able to decisively test goalkeepers as defensive organization outweighed offensive risks.

Saudi pressure ... Jordanian resistance

Approaching the half hour mark ,, Saudi Arabia began to push higher up the pitch committing more bodies forward in effort to tilt the balance.

Jordan’s compact defensive shape however remained resolute frustrating Saudi advances & limiting space in the final third..

The intensity of the contest was reflected in yellow card shown to Saudi midfielder Al Khaibari as challenges became increasingly physical in central areas.

In the 37 minute of first half ... controversy arose due to handball by Jordanian player Abu Taha inside the penalty area but after consulting VAR , the referee didn't award penalty kick.

All to play for after the interval

With the score level at halftime both coaches are expected to adjust their approach.

Saudi Arabia'll likely seek more penetration and sharper combinations in attack while Jordan may turn to set pieces and rapid breaks to exploit space behind the saudi backline..

With the score still tied.. semi final match remains very evenly matched and the next 45 minutes will determine who'll get the chance to face Morocco in the 2025 Arab Cup final.
