Cardona, Hernández, López lead Central American Cup Semifinals Best XI

MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup has concluded its Semifinals, as the last two remaining teams move on to the Final.
Many players delivered outstanding performances, yet these eleven stood out the most in their respective positions.
Here is a look at the 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup Best XI for the Semifinals.
Goalkeeper
Washington Ortega, LD Alajuelense – Ortega delivered solid performances in goal, helping reigning champion LD Alajuelense reach a third consecutive Final. The Uruguayan goalkeeper recorded seven saves in the Semifinals series against Olimpia, including a key save in the decisive penalty shootout.
Defenders
Manuel Romero, CSD Xelajú MC – Romero was a leader at the back for Xelajú as the Guatemalan side overcame a tough series against Real España to advance to its first Central American Cup Final. The center back played the full 210 minutes over the two legs, contributing three tackles and 12 clearances.
Alexis Gamboa, LD Alajuelense – Gamboa was one of the main men, defensively, for La Liga to reach the Final, playing the full 210 minutes in the series and tallying six successful tackles, 20 clearances, and one interception. Additionally, he was one of three Alajuelense players to score their attempts from the spot in the penalty shoutout win against Olimpia in Honduras.
Daniel Aparicio, Real CD España – Daniel Aparicio stood out at the back for Real España in the thrilling series against Xelajú, registering five interceptions and five clearances in 210 minutes, and also scored the team’s goal in the Second Leg.
Midfielders
Celso Borges, LD Alajuelense – Alajuelense’s captain commanded the midfield for the reigning champions against Olimpia. Borges was precise on ball distribution with 117 total passes, while also contributing on defensive duties with three clearances, two interceptions, and one successful tackle.
Juan Cardona, CSD Xelajú MC – Cardona was a presence in midfield for Xelajú, scoring a crucial late goal for Los Chivos in the Second Leg against Real España to send the match to extra time, and defensively pitching in with six clearances, two interceptions, and one tackle.
Jorge Aparicio, CSD Xelajú MC – Jorge Aparicio stood out for Xelajú, playing the full 210 minutes of the series and being the player with most passes in the Semifinals with 148 completed passes. The midfielder also tallied two successful tackles and two clearances on the defensive side.
Rashir Parkins, LD Alajuelense – Parkins played a key role in midfield for Alajuelense over 117 minutes on the field in the Second Leg against Olimpia, with six attempted shots, three successful tackles, and two clearances.
Jesús López, CSD Xelajú MC – Jesús López was crucial for Xelajú in the 1-1 first leg draw against Real España, scoring the goal for Los Chivos in the match in Honduras, and contributing defensively with two successful tackles and two clearances.
Forwards
Anthony Hernández, LD Alajuelense – The attacker was clinical with a goal in each leg of the Semifinals for the two-time defending champions.
Pedro Báez, CSD Xelajú MC – Báez was one of the main threats in attack for Xelajú, providing the assist for the team’s goal in the first leg, and pitching in with six attempted shots overall in the series.
