Manchester United are currently leading 1-0 against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
A goal from Patrick Dorgu midway through the first half has given Manchester United the lead, and they will be hoping to build on it and grind out a positive result here.
Manchester United have impressed with their performance against Newcastle, and they have maintained control of the game to some extent. Former Premier League star Jamie Carragher has now explained that the system deployed by manager Ruben Amorim has caused all sorts of problems for Newcastle.
Carragher said to the BBC: “It just seems right for Man Utd when you see them play. I think in the last few weeks we’ve seen something different, not just in their performances, we’re not quite sure if it’s a back four or a back five. “Tonight, when you look at the team, whether it’s with the ball or without the ball, it’s a back four. “The strange thing about it is that it’s forcing Newcastle to play a back five and they don’t want to play a back five, they want to play a back four. The set-up by Man Utd has been really good and they’re causing Newcastle problems.”

Amorim has been criticised for his system in the past, but the Portuguese manager is clearly learning from his mistakes. He has recently admitted that he would do things differently if he had the experience he possesses right now.
The manager is clearly getting better along with his team. Manchester United have shown signs of progress this season, and it will be interesting to see if they can continue to perform at a high-level and return to the UEFA Champions League at the end of the season. A club of their stature should be competing at that level regularly.
