In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Chelsea are facing stiff competition for Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn. It has been revealed that the Blues would have to rival Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the German talent in this upcoming transfer window.

Eichhorn’s Impressive Rise In German Football

Eichhorn did well to catch the eye at times for the German club at the centre of the park in this campaign. The 16-year-old has scored two goals in 19 matches for Hertha Berlin this season across multiple competitions.

The German youngster is currently one of the most gifted young midfielders in European football. Therefore, the Blues would do well to win the race for his services in this summer transfer window.

Eichhorn is yet to pen a professional contract with the Berlin club, which could open the door for Chelsea to sign him when he turns 17 later this year.

Chelsea Are Facing Stiff Competition For Eichhorn: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Eichhorn is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer as well.

Standing at 1.86m, the German sensation is a commanding presence in the air. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Blues manage to snap him up in this summer transfer period.

Eichhorn would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in the West London club’s squad.

At 16, Eichhorn has got the potential to be a generational talent. Hence, it makes sense for the Blues to go all out to sign him later this year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Alonso should consider stepping up his efforts to bring him to Stamford Bridge soon.
