Corinthians futsal starlet reacts to Brazil Under-20 call-up

One of the highlights of the Corinthians Under-20 futsal team and present in the main team, the pivot Andrey, born in 2005, was called up to the Brazilian Under-20 National Team for the Liga Evolução – a tournament organized by Conmebol. In a statement, the player commented on his call-up and analyzed his performance during the Talentos LNF.

In the national competition – regarded as the youth LNF – Corinthians stopped in the semifinals, being surpassed by Jaraguá Futsal, losing the first leg 2-1 away, and drawing the second 3-3 at Parque São Jorge: “It is a great honor, an enormous satisfaction to defend the National Team's jersey, which is so prestigious in this sport. Unfortunately, the much-desired Talentos LNF title did not come, but thank God, individually, I was able to stand out. Continuing with honest and sincere work, the results that were not positive will not change the goals we have until the end of this season”, he began.

In the Talentos LNF, Andrey was the top scorer for Corinthians with eight goals in eight matches. Subsequently, the player detailed his relationship with the athletes of the main futsal team of Alvinegro – position competitors – and with coach Fernando Malafaia.

“They have different characteristics, but somehow they always try to help me. I am happy to be able to learn from Deives, who is a reference, with Rick, who is a partner, and Israel, who is more of a joker, but when needed, he is always trying to help as much as he can. I want to make the most of this and enjoy the moment to carry it throughout my career”, he said.

In the Liga Evolução of the sport, the Brazilian National Team is in the North Zone along with Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela. The group leader will face the winner of the South Zone – Argentina – in the competition's final.

The tournament's first phase will be held from November 12 to 16 in Venezuela. On Wednesday, October 28, the athletes will gather to start the training period with the Canarinho.

In the main Corinthians Futsal team, Andrey has accumulated eight games (seven in 2025 and one in the 2023 season), with two goals scored, in addition to six wins and two losses.
