Cristian Olivera, 23, is close to leaving Grêmio for Nacional in Montevideo, but faces a fresh dispute with his former agent Edgardo Lasalvia, who alleges unpaid fees and details past personal issues.
"Cristian tried to jump from a building in Spain and I went to get him, he went through a period of depression. I put a psychologist in to help him. I got him out of Los Angeles and sold him to Grêmio, gave him the best house in Porto Alegre, and he has still not paid me," Lasalvia said, speaking to Las Voces del Fútbol on El Espectador Deportes.
Signed from Los Angeles FC for US$ 4.5 million, about R$ 25.6 million at the time, Olivera ended his partnership with Lasalvia in May, shortly after arriving at Grêmio. "I feel that in the last year he has not been working professionally. He was far from the players and what was happening at their clubs. I did not feel protected or safe," the forward told Sport 890.
Lasalvia also criticised Olivera’s recent behaviour and influence around him, claiming "he is being manipulated". He alleged lavish spending, saying, "While he buys 20 Louis Vuitton bags for her, his mother keeps cleaning floors," and referenced other personal expenses.
Olivera is now set for a return to Uruguayan football with Nacional as his Grêmio exit nears formalisation.
