Morocco is gearing up for its fifth appearance in the FIFA Arab Cup, sharing Group B with Comoros, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.

Morocco made its debut in the competition in 1998, sending its Olympic squad to Qatar. The team was eliminated in the group stage after a win over the United Arab Emirates (1-0) and a loss to Sudan (1-2).

In 2002, the Atlas Lions secured qualification by finishing second in Group A with 5 points: a 1-1 draw with Kuwait, another 1-1 with Jordan, a 3-1 victory over Palestine, and a 0-1 defeat to Sudan. They fell to Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals (0-2).

A decade later, Morocco lifted the trophy in Saudi Arabia. Topping Group B with 7 points, they knocked out Iraq (2-1) in the semi-finals before defeating Libya in the final (1-1, 3-1 on penalties). Brahim El Bahri scored Morocco’s only goal in the match.

For their fourth appearance, Sofiane Rahimi and his teammates dominated Group C with three wins against Palestine (4-0), Jordan (4-0), and Saudi Arabia (1-0), before being knocked out in the quarter-finals by Algeria (2-2, 3-5 on penalties).
