Flamengo could play nine matches in April, schedule outlined | OneFootball

With the domestic calendar paused for the March FIFA window, Flamengo could play nine times in April as they prepare to return to action.

According to Coluna Do Fla, eight fixtures are already set, five in the Brasileirão and three in the Libertadores, while the CBF still has to fix the first leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth round.

As holders, Flamengo will defend their Libertadores crown, with their first three group fixtures taking place in April. The reverse meetings are in May.

April’s fixtures are: 02/04 Red Bull Bragantino v Flamengo, 05/04 Flamengo v Santos, 08/04 Cusco v Flamengo, 12/04 Fluminense v Flamengo, 16/04 Flamengo v Independiente Medellín, 19/04 Flamengo v Bahia, 26/04 Atlético-MG v Flamengo, 29/04 Estudiantes v Flamengo. The Copa do Brasil first leg against Vitória at the Maracanã is expected between 22 and 23 April, with the return away on 14 May.

Flamengo return after 10 days focused on rest and training during the FIFA window. It is the first extended spell Leonardo Jardim has had to refine and implement new ideas since taking charge.

They face Red Bull Bragantino at Estádio Cícero de Souza Marques on Thursday 02/04 at 21:30 Brasília time, in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
