The Blues face The Hammers at The Chigwell Construction Stadium in Dagenham on Sunday afternoon.
West Ham United have lost all of their opening three league matches but Chelsea boss Bompastor is paying little attention to recent results given the threats that the East Londoners can pose.
“In terms of results, it’s probably not the place where they want to be but when you look at their squad, the quality they have and what they want to achieve with Rehanne [Skinner]; I won’t only reflect on their results,” Bompastor said when speaking in the pre-match press conference.
“They have a lot of quality and they were able to play [against Charlton Athletic] and win, scoring a lot of goals. I don’t want to name specific players but when you look at their starting XI from past games, they have enough quality to cause us trouble.
“As usual, we will be going into the game trying to find the right balance of being confident with the strengths that we have in our squad. We will also be paying attention to their strengths.
“They are able to perform [well] and if you look at them last season, they were able to take some points from us at Kingsmeadow. We will find the right balance and not be too confident going into the game. We need to make sure that we put in the performance that we need to win.”
Chelsea’s own campaign has started as you’d expect with three wins out of three. Bompastor is pleased with the competitive environment in and around her squad.
She said “This club is really competitive and we are all aligned with that. Every time we step onto the pitch, everyone wants to perform at their best level.
“The competition is really good within the club and this is what we want; they want to be the best versions of themselves. The competition is very high and this is really good for what we want to achieve this season.”
Chelsea’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at West Ham United kicks-off at 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
