Inter Milan Set To Face Atletico Madrid In Benghazi Friendly Amid Several Absences | OneFootball

Inter will face Atletico Madrid in Benghazi on Friday evening in the Libya Reconstruction Cup, with kick-off set for 18:00 CEST.

Coach Cristian Chivu will be without a large part of his squad, as thirteen players are currently away on international duty.

To complicate matters, there are also two additional absences – including one late withdrawal.

According to Corriere della Sera, via FCInter1908, Marcus Thuram, who was not called up by France, will not be available for the friendly, while Yann Sommer has been ruled out due to illness.

Thuram remains sidelined by a thigh injury which saw him come off during Inter’s 3-0 win over Slavia Prague.

The match will therefore provide an opportunity for those with fewer minutes so far this season to gain valuable playing time.

The friendly offers Chivu a useful test of depth and readiness across the squad ahead of Inter’s return to Serie A action following the international break.
