Jardim marks one month at Flamengo after reshaping routines and winning a title, only to hit a wobble with a loss to Bragantino.

According to Globo.com, the defeat in Bragança Paulista prompted criticism following 10 days of training in the international break. Jardim sharpened his tone and also spoke during Bap’s address to players the next day.

He debuted in the Campeonato Carioca final, then faced Cruzeiro, Botafogo, Remo and Corinthians. With time to work, the team played poorly in the ninth Brasileirão round. Players accept responsibility, and Jardim demands discipline on and off the pitch.

He underlined that by leaving Plata out against Corinthians before the pause, warning indiscipline would bring consequences. The stance aligned with board misgivings about Filipe Luís, seen as too liberal.

Early on he held one-to-ones to understand players and demand commitment, and tactical obedience has been enforced. The squad backed his ideas and the decision on Plata amid dissatisfaction with the player’s behaviour.

The key shift is the return of concentration before each match and activation sessions on match mornings. Direct in style, he applies his rules while being more flexible than Filipe Luís on limited access to parts of training. He stays in regular contact with the president, who visits the Ninho and messages Jardim and José Boto.

Jardim prepares for his seventh game, with three wins, two draws and one defeat, nine scored and four conceded, three last round. Santos visit Maracanã on Sunday at 17:30 Brasília time.
