Andrée Jeglertz has revealed that Naomi Layzell, Laura Wienroither and Grace Clinton are all making good progress but that the trio remain unavailable for Easter Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final trip to Birmingham.

Clinton has been recovering from a minor lower body problem whist Layzell (hip) and Wienroither (ankle) are also making good progress too.

However, speaking ahead of Easter Monday’s trip to the Midlands the boss provided a positive update on the trio’s progress as they step up their progress towards making a return to action.

“Yeah, both those two (Layzell and Wienroither) and Grace Clinton are starting to run on the field also and she’s also on her way,” the manager said.

“So, I think those that have been out for a while, they are definitely on their way back.

“And so it makes it even harder for me to select the team in the future, but at the same time, it’s also making the quality in everything we do in sessions a little bit better.”

Elsewhere, the Dutch national team confirmed on Friday that Vivianne Miedema wouldn’t be available for the upcoming break due to injury.

And while Jeglertz didn’t elaborate further on our number ten, he did add that he would carefully monitor City’s training sessions over the weekend before making a final selection for the trip to the West Midlands.

City will step out for the Birmingham assignment on the back of last weekend’s superb 3-0 Barclays Women’s Super League derby triumph at Manchester United.

Now the emphasis switches to the cup with Jeglertz’s side pitted against the Women’s Super League 2 opposition as we seek to reach the semi-finals.

“We have had two sessions, so at the moment I think and I hope that everybody should be available for Monday,” the boss added.

“But let’s see how it turns out during the weekend when we are having a couple of sessions and see where we are at.

“We will definitely look into a squad to see who is available and not available.

“There is, of course, always a couple of players that might have some small injuries and small problems, which we might just need to consider.

“But we will definitely put a team up on Monday that we think is going to give us the best circumstances to win the game.

“If that means that we are rotating a couple of players, I need to wait and see how it is during the weekend.”
