Jorginho says he played through pain, could make Flamengo season debut at São Paulo | OneFootball

Jorginho says he played through pain in 2025 and, after a wisdom tooth extraction, is now fit ahead of a possible outing against São Paulo.

"I played with pain a few times, it was inflamed. I had to play with medication or with pain. Now was the right time to end this problem. I am 100%," he told FlamengoTV. "Physically, the plan is to grow with the games and training that are coming, the plan is clear, follow it, go for it."

The midfielder has been named in the squad for the first time this season for Wednesday 28's match at Morumbi, with kick-off at 21h30, Brasília time. He is favoured to start.

Filipe Luís's team have played two matches this year, and Jorginho was not even on the bench.

On television, Globo will broadcast the first-round Brasileirão meeting nationwide.
