Leeds United are monitoring Noah Okafor after a reported Switzerland knock.
Neue Zürcher Zeitung reports the winger was set for minutes against Germany on Friday, only to be hurt in the warm-up. That explains why he remained unused despite scope for wholesale changes.
Germany won 4-3, with Leeds midfielder Anton Stach getting the final 10 minutes. Okafor stayed on the bench.
The 25-year-old earned a first call-up since November 2024, replacing injured compatriot Filip Ugrinić. He had been out amid strained relations with Murat Yakin over game time and communication.
A solid first season at Elland Road, with four Premier League goals in 24 appearances, aided his return. He said on social media that his World Cup dream remains alive.
The issue has been described as a knock, which suggests little, but tonight’s participation is uncertain. There should be clarity by 5pm when the teams are released, and he only recently returned from a hamstring problem that sidelined him for five matches.
Leeds are not back in Premier League action for almost two weeks, but face West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Gabriel Gudmundsson sustained a knock for Sweden and was withdrawn midway through the second half of their play-off win over Ukraine, later easing fears before tonight’s final against Poland. Wales are closely monitoring Daniel James after he played close to 90 minutes in their semi-final defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina on penalties. He missed the entire winter following a hamstring tendon injury at Manchester City in November.
