Leeds United have published 2024/25 accounts showing record revenue of £137m in their title-winning Championship season, yet a pre-tax loss of £49.2m underscores a tight PSR position.

Commercial income jumped to £58.1m, up more than 34 percent from £43.3m and higher than in any of their three recent Premier League seasons. According to The Athletic, that commercial figure ranks ninth among English clubs including the Premier League.

Matchday revenue rose slightly to £31.6m, while broadcast income fell from £53.6m to £47.2m. The accounts argue Leeds’ status as the only club in the United Kingdom’s third biggest metropolitan area offers a structural advantage for sustaining Premier League status over time.

The £49.2m deficit is down from a £60.8m shortfall the previous year, but the three-year rolling loss reached £143.7m. That exceeds the £61m limit permitted over 2022 to 2025 under Profitability and Sustainability Rules, though certain costs can be excluded.

Wages totalled £107.7m, the highest of Championship clubs to publish so far, a 28 percent rise with an average weekly salary of £45,000. Sunderland are next on £54m, with Burnley yet to file.

Football net debt fell 87 percent from £128.3m to £16.3m, aided by funding from the 49ers enterprise ownership group to support summer investment. Investor cash for 2024/25 totalled £108m.
