Leeds United posted record Championship revenue of £137m in 2024/25, but a hefty pre-tax loss underlined a tight PSR picture. The total was seven per cent up on their previous record in 2023/24.

Commercial income rose to £58.1m, more than 34 per cent up on £43.3m and higher than in any of their three Premier League seasons. According to The Athletic, that figure ranked ninth among English clubs.

Matchday revenue edged up to £31.6m, while broadcast income fell to £47.2m from £53.6m. The accounts portrayed Leeds’ commercial strength as reflecting the pull of being the only club in the UK’s third-largest metropolitan area and a potential long-term advantage in retaining Premier League status.

Despite growth, promotion costs told, with a £49.2m loss, down from £60.8m the year before. The three-year rolling loss reached £143.7m, compared with a £61m PSR cap for 2022-2025, although some costs are excluded from calculations.

The wage bill climbed to £107.7m, a 28 per cent rise on 2023/24, for an average weekly wage of £45,000. Among published Championship accounts, Sunderland are next on £54m, while Burnley are yet to report.

Net football debt fell 87 per cent from £128.3m to £16.3m, bolstered by the 49ers ownership. Investor funding across 2024/25 totalled £108m.
