Leeds United and Daniel Farke have been handed a timely boost, with Anton Stach returning from Germany duty unscathed and barely used.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 27-year-old earned a first Germany call-up in four years for friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana after a standout debut season at Elland Road.

He had a 10-minute cameo against Switzerland, coming on at 3-3 before Germany edged a 4-3 thriller. Club team-mate Noah Okafor was an unused substitute for the opposition.

In Stuttgart on Monday, Stach remained on the bench as goals from Kai Havertz and Deniz Undav sealed a 2-1 win over Ghana. Julian Nagelsmann used eight substitutes but did not turn to the £17 million signing.

Stach has been near ever-present for Farke, missing only a handful of Premier League games. Before the break he played the full 90 in four demanding fixtures against Manchester City, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Brentford.

He now returns with just 10 minutes in his legs. Leeds visit West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, then have a full week before resuming the Premier League at Manchester United on Monday, April 13.

Selection at the London Stadium may hinge on balancing a possible Wembley trip with the priority of top-flight survival. Farke will welcome the extra freshness, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also not featured after being sent back by England.
