Daniel Farke doubts Joe Rodon will face Liverpool after the defender injured his ankle in Leeds United’s 1-1 draw at Sunderland.

According to Leeds Live, Rodon took a heavy early challenge to his foot, later trapped his ankle under a tackler, carried on briefly, then departed as Leeds moved to 4-3-3.

Farke said the ankle was hit and rolled and is badly swollen, with further assessment to follow. He added it did not look good straight after the match and he doubts Rodon will be available for Liverpool or the games before the FA Cup tie.

The reshuffle helped Leeds gain territory. They cancelled out Simon Adringa’s first half goal soon after the interval, Dominic Calvert-Lewin guiding in his seventh in six matches.

Calvert-Lewin is the first Leeds player to score in six consecutive Premier League games for 65 years. Farke said he has not held a personal chat about England with the striker, and that if he keeps scoring he thinks there are good chances he could make the plane, with selection defined by performances.
