Marco Silva is pushing for greater stability at Benfica, prioritising dressing-room protection as the 2026/27 campaign gets under way.
Correio da Manhã reports that, since pre-season began, successive leaks have alarmed the coach, including stories on his one-to-one player talks, and that he also welcomed Benfica’s discreet handling of negotiations with Atlético de Madrid, which he sees as aligning with the culture he wants to implement.
His aim is to keep team matters inside the dressing room, limiting outside pressure and, he believes, strengthening the squad’s capacity to fight for trophies.
Alongside work on the pitch, Silva has held planning meetings with president Rui Costa, director-general Mário Branco and leaders at Benfica Campus.
He has also expressed satisfaction with the arrival of Clément Lenglet.
