La Lazio Siamo Noi reports that Mario Gila and Toma Basic are expected to be ready for next Wednesday’s Coppa Italia tie against Atalanta.
The Croatian midfielder has been sidelined since suffering an adductor injury at the Allianz Stadium against Juventus earlier this month. The Spanish defender hurt his knee during the defeat to Atalanta 10 days ago.
Lazio resumed training on Tuesday, but neither player worked with the group. Preparations for Sunday’s clash with Torino include a double session on Wednesday, afternoon sessions on Thursday and Friday, then a Saturday morning workout at Formello before travelling to Turin.
It remains to be seen if they can rejoin full training in the coming days. At this stage, neither is expected to challenge for a starting spot.
They are considered to have a good chance of recovering for the semi-final first leg at the Stadio Olimpico on four March. Pedro and Manuel Lazzari remain sidelined, while Nicolo Rovella underwent surgery on Monday to repair a fractured collarbone and will be out for several months.
